Music Theory
The principles of music reading,
including rhythm, melody, harmony and all of the necessary elements of music.
Sight singing is a major part of this class which will enable the students to
learn to read music at sight and thus help them to further their skills,
especially those who wish to pursue college training in any aspect of vocal
performance.
Fees are $225 for a 15 week session.
Additional instructional materials may be required to purchase for the course.

Beginning Sight Singing:
One hour class. Students will be introduced to rhythm reading by learning to count the macro beat, the micro beat and the melodic rhythm. Students will learn to sight read pitch by mastering moveable 'Do' solfege utilizing hand signals. We will then put the skills together and sight read in two or three parts. Class will move quickly and include so much fun that you will never be bored. Excellent preparation for Regional choir auditions.

Intermediate/Advanced Sight Singing:
One hour class. Students will increase speed and complexity of rhythm utilizing skills mastered in the beginning level class. Students will sight read larger pitch intervals using solfege hand signals. Skills will be developed by sight singing in three or more parts. Fluency and speed will be increased.
Excellent preparation for All State choir auditions or collegiate auditions involving a sight-singing component.
